Remembering Black Panther

It’s not uncommon to see a few superhero costumes during an obstacle course race. And since 2016, Black Panther may be one of the superheroes you’ve had the pleasure to race beside. Black Panther actor Chadwick Boseman’s fitness and athleticism was the kind any OCR lover could appreciate. He seemed to be the poster child for good health. However, this week’s shocking news of Boseman’s death is a somber reminder that cancer does not discriminate. The actor was first diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016 and has been battling quietly ever since.

The late Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther

Boseman portrayed Black Panther in four Marvel movies each of which showcased the character’s parkour-like movement and almost supernatural endurance. While stuntmen filled-in during Black Panther’s most dangerous scenes, Boseman had to maintain a physique and agility that would make the action believable. Many of the films were shot with little downtime in between requiring Boseman to stay well trained and in peak shape. As a tribute to the late actor’s commitment to his craft and overall fitness, MudGear wants to share a day of Boseman’s fitness regimen as reported by a popular lifestyle magazine.
